The Chiang Mai Bird Sanctuary is an ambition to transform a land piece of 30 acres to be a safe-free natural sanctuary for local and migrating birds. We are working with green architects, field work zoologists and botanists to challenge juxtaposing biodiversity concept with aesthetic human-nature design to ultimately create a safe "free" habitat for our avian friends.r plan to divide the area into the following zoning has been finalized as followed: 1.Grassland 2.Farmland 3.Forest and bush land 4.Wetland(shallow water) 5.Pond


The Chiang Mai Bird Sanctuary will also involve the local community and business sectors to make sure the long term sustainability of the project


This project was founded by Chak Cherdsatirkul. It was designed by Dr. Singh Intrachooto of Kasetsart University and Jariyawadee Lekawatana ahnd Achitectkidd team with the kind support from Lanna Bird and Nature conservation club and Dr.Nonn Panitvong from Siamensis group.


The project’s site is located in Sanpatong, Chiang Mai. This 30 acres land plot is situated in the middle of the rice field, the orchards and the light suburban residential area. The site was initially planned for residential development in 1998 but failed and was left unused since then. The site is primary flat grassland with few trees and a man made pond. The master plan to divide the area into the following zoning has been finalized as followed: 1.Grassland 2.Farmland 3.Forest and bush land 4.Wetland(shallow water) 5.Pond
